We decided for practical reasons that it would be easier to cut the mid section set in the grocers- it wasn't a part of the story we felt was essential to include. This also makes location easier as we will use the same location for the whole short.
As well as the short story, we watched the Robin Chapman TV adaptation of Lamb to the Slaughter for the series Tales of the Unexpected. Although this was dated, it gave us a good idea of set design and relationship dynamics between Mary and Patrick, and the detectives.
